Manjari Dance Academy presents Brahmaputra Classical Dance Festival at TRIGUNA SEN AUDITORIUM, Jadavpur University, Kolkata on 16 July 2022.
Renowned artist Dr.Mahua Mukhapadhya, the exponent of Indian Classical dance form Gaudiya Nritya and Dr. Mandakranta Roy, leading soloist in Bharatanatyam will be performing in the festival.
Dr.Mahua Mukhapadhya, Professor of Department of Dance, Rabindra Bharati University and researcher has significantly contributed to popularise this ancient dance form Gaudiya Nritya in the country. The ancient dance form has been now recognised as an Indian classical dance by Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Dr. Mandakranta Roy, the renowned artist is a recipient of Sangeet Ratna in Rabeendra Nritya. She started her initial training under the guidance of Guru Hira Dey, Kalatirtha, Agarthala and later under Guru Dr. Thankamani Kutty, Kalamandalam, Kolkata.
Other eminent artists include Pratibha Sharma (Sattriya), Drimly Gogoi (Sattriya), Debdutta Lahiri (Odissi), Prerona Bhuyan and Madhushmita Bora (Sattriya)
Earlier, “Ardhanarishwara” was held at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata. Dancers – Ayan Mukherjee ( Son of Dr. Mahua Mukherjee) and Dr. Satabdi Acharya ( Niece in Law). Music research and vocal by Pt. Amitava Mukherjee( Husband).

Composer – Pt. Sitanath Acharya & Sardar Panda Bhaba Pritha Nanda Ojha.
