AANAYOOTTU FESTIVAL AT VADAKKUMNATHAN TEMPLE

‘Aanayoottu’, a mass feast for elephants was organised at the Vadakkumnathan Temple in Thrissur, Kerala during the malayalam month of Karkkitakam on 17 July 2021.

 Fifteen elephants participated in the function following Covid protocols and were given a sumptuous traditional feast with sugarcane, rice, ghee, coconut,  jaggery and ayurvedic medicinal food.

The annual observance of ‘Ramayana Month’ began in Kerala with people chanting verses from the epic at Temples and houses.
