Inspiration to Inspire – Where Compassion Finds Its Canvas
The Bharat Nivas Pavilion of India, Auroville, is set to host a remarkable international exhibition titled “Inspiration to Inspire”, commemorating the fifteenth year of the Assist World Records Research Foundation’s global journey.
Scheduled from 12 October to 1 November 2026 at Kala Kendra, Bharat Nivas, the exhibition presents a compelling collection of paintings inspired by the artistic reflections and creative explorations of renowned artist and world record holder R. Rajendran, Founder of Assist World Records, Puducherry.
More than an exhibition, Inspiration to Inspire unfolds as a visual narrative of imagination, perseverance, and artistic evolution. Drawing inspiration from the cultural landscapes of Auroville and Puducherry, Rajendran’s works echo a lifelong commitment to creativity, innovation, and the pursuit of excellence. Each painting captures moments of reflection and discovery, inviting visitors into a world where art becomes a bridge between personal vision and universal inspiration.
The prestigious event will be inaugurated on 11 October 2026 at 10.30 a.m. by Thiru N. Rangasamy, Honorable Chief Minister of Puducherry. The gathering will also witness the presence of distinguished personalities including Kalaimamani Dr. V.G. Santhosam, Chairman of VGP Group of Companies & Founder of VPG Ulaga Thamizh Sangam, Chennai, along with trustees, artists, cultural leaders, and social visionaries from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, highlighting the exhibition’s significance within the region’s artistic and cultural landscape.
Curated as a celebration of human achievement and creative expression, the exhibition reflects the spirit that has driven Assist World Records across the globe for over a decade. Through color, form, and storytelling, the showcase pays tribute not only to artistic accomplishment but also to the enduring power of inspiration to spark new ideas, nurture talent, and connect communities beyond geographical boundaries.
Amid scaffolds and splashes of vibrant colour, artist R. Rajendran stands as both creator and mentor. He is a Guinness World Record Holder (2007) and the founder of Assist World Records, Puducherry.
His journey began with extraordinary feats of mouth-painting. He made a 51-hour Tsunami tribute in 2004, a 127-hour portrait of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in 2006, and a 12-day painting of Mother Teresa in 2007. These works were born of struggle and sacrifice, and each became a milestone of art for social causes.
A graduate in Computer Science with an MBA in HR, and in Fine Art, Rajendran turned his own challenges into guidance for others. He founded Assist World Records to mentor record aspirants across the globe. Its campaigns include Save Nature, Climate Change and Clean India, My Dream My India and Make Your Mark.
Now, in the 15th year of Assist World Records, he unveils a special collection of paintings inspired by the Whispers of Auroville & Puducherry. They reflect his creative journey, his artistic vision and his passion for inspiring others. For him, art is not only beauty but also conscience.
