Contours of Modernism — Edition II: Delhi Rediscovers Its Masters
Gallery Pioneer brings Indian Modernism back into the spotlight with Contours of Modernism — Edition II, a landmark exhibition running from 3rd to 25th October 2026, 11 AM to 7 PM, at F-322, 2nd Floor, Lado Sarai, New Delhi.
Following the success of its first edition, this showcase unites works by legendary names — S. H. Raza, F. N. Souza, Jamini Roy, K. G. Subramanyan, Ram Kumar, Manu Parekh, Akbar Padamsee, Krishen Khanna and many more — many of which have quietly lived in private collections for decades.
What makes this edition extraordinary isn’t just the artistry, but the stories behind each canvas: an Arup Das work sourced directly from his studio, a K. H. Ara painting chosen by a couple at a Saffronart show, and eight rare Ram Kumar pieces tracing back to writer S. Balu Rao’s personal collection.
As the gallery reflects, “an artwork does not stop having a story when it is sold; often, that is where its next story begins.”
More than a display of masterpieces, Contours of Modernism invites viewers to look beyond names and prices — into the journeys, relationships and quiet histories that keep India’s modern art legacy alive.
