Journey of a Woman – Giribala Tripathy’s Soulful Art Exhibition at Puducherry

In the serene heart of Pondicherry, the solo exhibition Journey of a Woman unfolds like a quiet revelation. Each brushstroke by Giribala Tripathy carries the pulse of introspection — a dialogue between memory and becoming. Her canvases breathe with earthy greens and tender browns, tracing the invisible path of a woman discovering her own rhythm.

Born in Orissa and nurtured by the spiritual calm of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Giribala’s art transcends technique; it is meditation in motion. Over two decades of creative and sustainable practice have shaped her vision — one that listens to silence, to friendship and to the skin-deep truth of transformation.

Educated in Education (Honours and Master’s) and studied Art under renowned Kirti Chandak (2006–2014), Giribala’s artistic evolution is rooted in both pedagogy and practice. Her workshops — from Auroville’s Recycle Cotton Paper (2011) to Kaavi and Paper Pulp sessions (2022–2026) — reveal her devotion to sustainable craft.

Her research journeys across India — Ajanta, Ellora, Konark, Hampi, Tanjore and Santiniketan — deepen her connection to heritage and form. 

It is not merely an art show but a pilgrimage — a journey without maps, where the artist’s words echo softly: “This is the beginning of my journey, and I have no idea where I am going.”

The exhibition opens at Maison Perumal, Heritage Town, Puducherry on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, at 6 p.m., continuing until Monday, August 17th, 2026.
