Sangeetacharya Gourang Sahar Classical Music Festival — A Resonance of Tradition

On 31st May 2026, the Rhythm Academy of Music will present the Second Session of the Sangeetacharya Gourang Sahar Classical Music Festival, a heartfelt tribute marking his Jonmo Shotoborsho Upolokkhe—the centenary celebration of a revered musical visionary whose teachings continue to illuminate the path of Indian classical art.

At Niranjan Sadan (Mini Auditorium), the evening will unfold in divine harmony as Pandit Dishari Chakraborty graces the stage with his Solo Shatatantri Veena recital, accompanied by the rhythmic brilliance of Pandit Sujit Saha on Tabla. Their performance promises to be a dialogue between melody and rhythm—an invocation of devotion through sound.

“I’m delighted to share that after a long interval, I shall be presenting a Solo Shatatantri Veena recital at Niranjan Sadan, Kolkata, accompanied by renowned tabla maestro Pandit Sujit Saha. I warmly invite all lovers of Indian classical music in Kolkata,  to join us for an evening of devotion, melody and rhythm. This special musical festival is being organized as a tribute to Sangeet Acharya Gouranga Saha on the occasion of his birth centenary.” — Pandit Dishari Chakraborty

THIS FESTIVAL STANDS AS A LIVING HOMAGE TO INDIA’S CLASSICAL HERITAGE—WHERE EVERY NOTE BECOMES A PRAYER, EVERY RHYTHM A HEARTBEAT OF TRADITION, AND EVERY PERFORMANCE A TIMELESS OFFERING TO THE ETERNAL SPIRIT OF MUSIC.
