Vidushi Niyathi Nagesh — Bridging Tradition and Modernity Through Bharatanatyam
In the vibrant cultural tapestry of Bengaluru, Vidushi Niyathi Nagesh shines as both a dedicated Bharatanatyam artist and an aspiring engineer.
Her journey is a testament to the harmony between tradition and modernity, where the timeless rhythms of Bharatanatyam meet the precision of science.
For Niyathi, dance is not merely performance—it is a spiritual voyage, shaping her discipline, creativity and perseverance.
Trained for over a decade at Kalasampada under the guidance of Guru Veena C. Seshadri, she has imbibed the Kalakshetra bani with devotion, rigorously following the guru-shishya parampara.
Her Rangapravesha marked a milestone, and since then she has graced prestigious stages across India, from Vaishakha Natanam 2026 and Bekal Gokulam Goushala ICCR programmes, to Navarasa Navaratri at Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt, World Dance Day at Raga Sudha Hall, Mylapore, and countless temple and cultural festivals.
Her artistry extends beyond performance—she now mentors young dancers at Kalasampada, nurturing the next generation with the same devotion she received.
Recently She participated in “Anāhata Nāda”, a unique ballet choreographed by her guru, exploring the mystical unstruck cosmic sound, a production that revealed her depth as both performer and seeker.
Balancing intellect and art with rare grace, Niyathi Nagesh pursues her engineering degree at the Global Academy of Technology, Bengaluru, while her soul remains wholly devoted to Bharatanatyam. Her vision is luminous—to restore the relevance of Indian classical arts in contemporary society, inspiring youth and global audiences to rediscover the joy and meaning dance brings.
As she herself affirms, “Engineering has never been my dream. It has been Dance all the way. My heart, soul, everything is for dance. Engineering is just a side quest to me. Something I am doing to support my passion—dance.” In these words, Niyathi reveals not only her unwavering devotion but also the timeless truth that art, when embraced with sincerity, becomes life’s deepest calling.
Her accolades include victories at Varnotsava, the Nritya Gaurav Ratna from Naindanik Manush Foundation, the Nritya Bhushan Diploma from Pracheen Kala Kendra, and recognition from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai.
