Nababarsha Udjapan Committee — A Festive Evening of Gaudiya Nritya
On April 15, 2026, the Nababarsha Udjapan Committee hosted a luminous cultural evening to celebrate the New Year’s Day of Bengal. Held at 9:15 p.m., the event unfolded in an atmosphere of tradition and festivity, that reflected the timeless artistry of Bengal.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of Gaudiya Nritya Bharati, directed by Prof. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, a pioneer in reviving and preserving this classical dance form. The performance embodied the grace and depth of Bengal’s heritage, weaving rhythm, devotion, and storytelling into a tapestry of movement and music.
The evening was enriched by the performances of young, talented artists, including Sr Scholarship recipient Sayantika Majumdar, Manikiran Dutta Gupta, Saheli Pal, Nikita Sarkar, and Jr National Scholarship recipient Shrimoyi Mistri, who presented a graceful Gaudiya Nritya performance. Their artistry illuminated the stage, blending classical heritage with youthful energy, and offered the audience a glimpse into Bengal’s timeless cultural spirit.
