The Legacy — A World Art Day Celebration in Kolkata

On the occasion of World Art Day 2026, Sopaan presents The Legacy, a distinguished group exhibition curated by Asish Gupta at Gallery Gold, Kolkata. Conceived as a tribute to the immortal genius of Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519), the exhibition honors the legendary polymath whose vision continues to inspire centuries of artistic creation.

This vibrant showcase brings together an ensemble of contemporary voices — After Ali Raja, Alankrita Chatterjee, Arushi Das, Anita Sarkar, Ashima Mondal, Auyona Gupta, Chilka Kanika, Indrani Ghosh, Jagriti Chakrabarti, Jianna Ghosh, Kamalika Ray Dutta, Manya Daga, Naaisha Krundi, Pratish Bhowmick, Ryka De, Sekhar, Kumar Dutta, Sudeshna Mukherjee, Sumit Ghosh, Suvodip Das, Tanishi Bhattacharya and Indrajit Narayan — each weaving their own interpretation of legacy through paintings, prints, and sculptures.

Guided by Gupta’s curatorial vision and enriched by the creative concept of Indrajit Narayan, The Legacy becomes more than an exhibition: it is a dialogue between past and present, a celebration of timeless artistry, and a collective homage to the spirit of innovation.
