Look. Look Again. – Anil Rawat’s Transformative Solo Exhibition at Visual Arts Gallery

Look. Look Again.— a striking new solo exhibition by renowned artist Anil Rawat, curated by Samar Jodha, will be on view at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, from 26th to 31st March 2026.

More than a presentation of artworks, this exhibition unfolds as a contemplative journey—an invitation to linger, to question, and to rediscover the act of seeing. Through Anil Rawat’s evocative digital and sculptural creations, shaped in close dialogue with Samar Jodha’s immersive curatorial vision, the gallery transforms into a space of reflection where each encounter resonates with depth and meaning.

At its heart, Look. Look Again. is shaped by collaboration. Anil Rawat’s digital figurative works, created using only a mouse, form the foundation, while Jodha’s curatorial approach extends across concept, spatial design, sequencing and text. Together, they construct an environment where every element—light, space and silence—guides the viewer into deeper engagement.

Renowned artist Anit Rawat’s art draws from the visual language of Indian devotional iconography, yet transcends religion to explore universal human qualities: devotion, courage, humility and service. These are not distant ideals but reflections of what already resides within each viewer. What began as a series of prints has evolved organically into a multi-dimensional exhibition, with the introduction of sculpture marking a significant extension of Rawat’s practice. These sculptural works emerge not as additions, but as natural progressions of an ongoing dialogue.

The exhibition space itself becomes part of the narrative. Set in darkness, each work is revealed in isolation through focused light, heightening the intensity of encounter. Visitors are invited to move beyond the immediacy of first impressions, to pause, reflect, and look again—discovering layers of meaning that unfold gradually.

“I did not come to Anil Rawat’s work as a curator. I came to it as someone who stood in front of it and did not want to leave. That is usually where the real work begins.” —Samar Jodha, Curator of the exhibition.

LOOK. LOOK AGAIN. IS THUS BOTH INTIMATE AND EXPANSIVE, A JOURNEY THROUGH IMAGE AND FORM THAT CHALLENGES PERCEPTION AND DEEPENS RESONANCE. IT IS AN INVITATION TO SEE NOT JUST THE ART, BUT ONESELF, ANEW.
