From the End of the Earth: Véronique Durruty & Alexandra Fontaine at Paris
At Espace 44 in Paris, the exhibition “du bout du monde (From the End of the Earth)” unfolds as a luminous dialogue between two renowned French visual artists—Véronique Durruty and Alexandra Fontaine. Their collaborative creations, born in Île-de-France, blur the boundaries between travel journals and artist books, offering hybrid objects that feel both intimate and expansive.
Véronique Durruty, whose drawings and photographs are simultaneously on view at Galerie Kalinka in Pondicherry until March 7, 2026, brings her poetic eye for journeys and landscapes. Fontaine, with her sensitivity to material and form, complements this vision, weaving together fragments of memory and imagination. Together, they chart paths of exploration that resonate with the spirit of wandering and discovery.
Selected as part of the official program of the 2026 Printemps des Poètes, the exhibition is not only a visual encounter but also a living performance. Each evening, Espace 44 becomes a stage for poetry, music, and participatory art—from readings by contemporary poets to the Franco-Asian performance Éclosion, where ink and monotype merge with live music by Chinese musicians Rong and Uzo.
Visitors are invited into guided tours, hand-drawn haiku sessions, and poetic lectures accompanied by projections and music.
