Anvi Singla shows her love for nature in this series of paintings and her artworks are abstract depictions of nature using a unique eco-friendly medium of hand -made paper from the ashes of ‘parali’ or the stubble, the leftover part of the paddy crop after harvesting.
“Across cultures and countries and over time, artists have depicted the theme of nature in various ways with the belief that it is connected to earthly life as well as celestial powers. Nature inspires artists by stirring feelings of wonder and awe. Depictions of mountains, trees, and flowers essentially express an artist’s image of nature and the cosmos. She uses gold, traditionally laden with spiritual significance, to enhance the luminosity of the bright hues and show her reverence. Her paintings show her reflection of the world around her, her exploration of beauty and her joy in the elegance of nature. Her conceptualizations convey depth and perspective and portray philosophical thoughts and mystical wisdom,” says Jitendra Padam Jain, an internationally acclaimed artist, art curator and art collector who has organised many exhibitions, art camps as well as artist-in residencies. He has rich experiences in organising national and international exhibitions including Japan Biennale, Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre Delhi, Khajuraho Film Festival and Indo-French Cultural Centre Dé Delhi, Lalit Kala Akademi Delhi Exhibition, India Habitat Centre Delhi Exhibition and Goa Film Festival.
Curator Jitendra Padam Jain has selected works from Anvi Singla’s oeuvre where the viewers could witness the unending passion of the artist for nature.
Anvi Singla was born in Faridabad and brought up in Gurugram, currently studying for Senior Diploma in Painting from JJ Sanskriti School of Visual Arts.
