UPASANA 2026: Dipika Roy’s Gaudiya Nritya Illuminates Kolkata’s Cultural Legacy
On January 11th, 2026, the Satyajit Ray Auditorium at ICCR, Kolkata, witnessed an unforgettable evening of rhythm and reverence as UPASANA ‘2026, presented by Shirsha Cultural Organisation (SCO), unfolded under the artistic curation of Sanjukta Bandyopadhyay, Director of SCO.
The highlight of the evening was an exquisite Gaudiya nritya performance by invited artist Dipika Roy, whose expressive command and graceful storytelling left the audience spellbound. From the first invocation to the final flourish, UPASANA was not merely an event—it was a celebration of heritage, a choreography of spirit, and a luminous offering to the arts.
A disciple of the renowned Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, Dipika has dedicated over 15 years to Gaudiya Nritya, carrying its spiritual depth across India—from Kolkata and Patna to Rishikesh and Delhi. Her journey, adorned with accolades such as the Senior National Scholarship (CCRT, Govt. of India, 2022), Gold Medals from the West Bengal Music Academy, and Yuva Utsav honors (2019, 2024), reflects both devotion and artistry.
