Guru Namrata Tiwari Talukdar is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, nurtured under the guidance of Professor M. R. Krishnamurthy, a devoted disciple of the illustrious Rukmini Devi Arundale. Carrying forward this rich lineage, Namrata has carved her own path in the world of Indian classical dance. Her artistry and dedication have earned her accolades from patrons and the press, and she was honored with the prestigious “Exceptional Woman of Excellence” award by the Women Economic Forum – All Ladies League, recognizing her outstanding contribution to dance, art, and culture.

Her academic journey reflects equal brilliance. Namrata Tiwari Talukdar holds a degree in B.A. LL.B. and an M.F.A. in Bharatanatyam from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. She is also a certified therapeutic movement practitioner, trained under the Creative Movement Therapy Association of India and accredited by CID-UNESCO France. Through workshops and short courses, she blends dance with wellness, helping individuals discover balance, health, and inner harmony.

The Grace of Manipuri Dance

Alongside Bharatanatyam, Namrata Tiwari Talukdar is also a trained Manipuri dancer, having honed her skills under the guidance of Smt. Rekha Talukdar and Smt. Anjika Raj Kumari, both disciples of the legendary Guru Bipin Singh. This dual training enriches her performances, allowing her to weave together the precision of Bharatanatyam with the lyrical beauty of Manipuri.

Her stage presence has illuminated prestigious festivals across India. She has performed at the Hampi Festival of Karnataka and the Natyanjali Festival of Chidambaram, captivating audiences with her grace and depth. Namrata has also been featured in programmes organized by the Kannada & Cultural Department of Karnataka and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, further cementing her reputation as a cultural ambassador.

Teacher, Mentor and Visionary

Beyond performance, Namrata Tiwari Talukdar has dedicated herself to teaching and nurturing the next generation of dancers. She has served as part of the dance faculty at Shankara Foundation, Bangalore, where her teaching blended discipline with inspiration. Today, she is the Founder and Artistic Director of SNTC Shivang Foundation, a space where young learners are trained in Bharatanatyam and Manipuri. Here, dance is imparted not only as technique but as a philosophy—an art that shapes character, discipline, and creativity.
