Remya Brijesh – Weaving Nature, Memory and Legacy into Art

ARTIST REMYA BRIJESH PRESENTS HER SOLO EXHIBITION VOYAGE OF THE SOUL, CURATED BY GEORGINA MADDOX, AT KALAMKAAR GALLERY, BIKANER HOUSE, NEW DELHI. 

Rooted in Kerala’s mural traditions, her canvases evoke memory, resilience and belonging—each brushstroke a quiet return to rivers, homes and stories that shape the soul. “Remya’s work is a meditation on the porousness of borders—between land and water, self and other, memory and moment. She paints not to possess, but to connect: to the feminine, the elderly, the child, and the quiet resilience that binds generations. Remya Brijesh, an artist and educator based in Gurugram, draws inspiration from nature’s rhythms and everyday beauty. Born in Ottapalam, Kerala, and raised in Attingal near Kilimanoor—the birthplace of Raja Ravi Varma—she carries forward the creative legacy of her father, the late Shri K. Chandrahasan.

Her practice blends tradition with transformation, weaving visual stories that honor resilience and interconnectedness. Exhibited widely across India, Remya’s art reflects a journey where observation becomes poetry and each brushstroke listens as much as it speaks.
