Colours of India: A Grand Celebration of Classical Music and Dance in Amritsar
Step into a world of rhythm, grace and timeless tradition as Swaranjali Delhi, in proud collaboration with Prabhakar Senior Secondary School, presents Colours of India—a vibrant tribute to 25 years of Indian classical music and dance.
This cultural milestone will unfold on 14th November 2025 at 4 PM, at the heart of Chheharta, Amritsar.
The evening promises a soulful journey led by three celebrated maestros:
- Smt. Nibedita Bhattacharya, whose expressive dance narrates stories beyond words
- Shri Subrata De, weaving magic through the strings of his sitar
- Pandit Siddharth Chatterjee, whose tabla speaks the language of devotion and dynamism
Smt. Nibedita Bhattacharjee is a devoted Hindustani classical vocalist shaped by 16 years of training under Acharya Jayant Bose in Kolkata. She refined her emotive style in Delhi under Smt. Sunanda Sharma Ji of the Banaras Gharana, and later learned from legends like Pandit Rajan–Sajan Mishra and Padma Shri Shanti Hiranand Ji, echoing the soul of Begum Akhtar.
Now guided by Pandit Devashish Dey Ji and Vidushi Tulika Ghosh, Nibedita blends deep tradition with fresh expression, crafting performances that resonate with timeless beauty.
Shri Subrata De, a renowned sitarist and vocalist of the Bishnupur Gharana, was born into a family where music is sacred. Trained by legends like Shri Manilal Nag, he mastered classical styles and emerged as a leading artist of India.
Shree Subrata De has been a cultural ambassador to many countries and is a panelist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Graded artist of AIR, Subrata De founded Swaranjali, an organisation dedicated to the promotion of art and artists. He also has various albums to his credit. Meditation, Ganga, and Panchatatwa are among his known compositions. He has created new ragas like Lata, Ataal, Shikhashree, Jogiya Ranjani , Jawahar, BhupMalap, Subhas and more.
Shri Subrata Deis a well-known name in Sitar and he is actively involved in steering various institutions of Hindustani Classical Music in the roles of educator and facilitator.
Born into a musical family, Shri Siddhartha Chatterjee began his tabla journey under his father Shri Rabindra Nath Chatterjee, later training with legends Pandit Kanailal Bhattacharya and Taalrang Biplab Bhattacharya. Over the years, he has performed with icons like Pandit Birju Maharaj, Ustad Shahid Parvez, and Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya, creating unforgettable musical moments. Honoured with titles like Sangeet Ratan, Taal Sadhak Samman, and Kala Chakra Churamani, he continues to inspire as a graded artist of All India Radio.
With the blessings of the Dhruv Bose Foundation, this event is more than a performance—it’s a celebration of heritage, harmony, and heartfelt artistry. The venue, Prabhakar Senior Secondary School, transforms into a temple of tradition, welcoming connoisseurs and curious hearts alike.
