On Sunday, 7th September 2025, TASMAI, Pondicherry invites seekers, artists and spiritual aspirants to Kala-Yoga Satsanga—an immersive gathering at the historic Vadukeeswarar Temple in Thiruvandarkoil, Tamil Nadu. Just 20 kilometers from Pondicherry, this serene temple—steeped in legend and devotion—offers the perfect setting for an afternoon of artistic offering and inner reflection.
Beginning at 4:00 p.m., the event blends sacred space with soulful expression, welcoming participants to engage in chanting, movement and kala-daan.
Vadukeeswarar Temple: A Sacred Legacy on the Pondicherry–Villupuram Highway
Nestled in Thiruvandarkoil along the Pondicherry–Villupuram highway, Vadukeeswarar Temple—also known as Panchanadeeswarar Temple—is a revered shrine where Lord Shiva is worshipped as Vadukeeswarar and Goddess Parvati as Thiripura Sundari.
Enshrined in the 7th-century Tevaram hymns and celebrated as one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, the temple stands as a living testament to Tamil Saivite devotion.
Believed to be originally built by the Cholas, its two-acre complex houses concentric sanctums and enduring stonework, now protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. With its mythic resonance and tranquil aura, the temple continues to draw pilgrims and seekers into its timeless embrace.
“We welcome fellow travelers to offer their Kala-daan in any heartfelt form—be it chanting, storytelling, conversations with locals, dance, drawing, painting, photography or even a quiet moment of reflection. This gathering is a space for shared spirit and spontaneous expression,” say the organizers of the Satsang.
Organized by Tasmai, a Centre for Art & Culture, Pondicherry, the satsanga promises a meaningful confluence of tradition, community and spiritual resonance.
