37th Mallar Utsav: Sitar Maestro Partha Pratim Roy Enthralls Kolkata

Kolkata’s Gandhi Seva Sangha resonated with classical brilliance as the 37th Mallar Utsav concluded on Saturday, 5th September 2026, featuring internationally acclaimed sitarist Pandit Partha Pratim Roy. 

Organized by Dumdum Samarpan in association with Ghosh Harmonium, this legacy evening honored the guru-shishya tradition under Sagar Ch. Ghosh’s discipleship to Binoy Bhushan Bose. 

Since 1996, Partha Pratim Roy’s sitar has enchanted global stages — enchanting audiences in Bangladesh, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Japan, Norway, France — and iconic Indian platforms like the India Habitat Centre and Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav. 

Beyond India’s borders, the music of Partha Pratim Roy has blossomed into a universal language.Each performance leaves behind a luminous footprint, a testament to the timeless power of melody.

From the soulful resonance at the Baba Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan (2019) to the spellbinding brilliance at the Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav, Hubli (2024), and many more,  his artistry continues to enchant.
