Diwali is the festival of light, celebrated by millions across the world.   It is the festival of a new beginning and the victory of good over evil and light over darkness.   It coincides with harvest and celebrations, decorating houses, shops and public places.

The word Diwali comes from Sanskrit word deepavali, meaning rows of lighted lamps.

This year Diwali carries a special significance as the world is responding to the Covid pandemic, the most dreaded evil in the world.
